People are starting to notice

July 29, 2009
169 lbs

Ok, so I've been doing this for 8 weeks now and have lost 21 lbs! I never thought I could do it. You know, seeing the weight off definitely motivates me to keep on going! I have not been working out as much as I should, but just the eating right has allowed me to lose. I need to make more time and find more videos to watch while working out.

I most definitely recommend W.W. to anyone trying to lose weight or just want to learn to eat right. People always use the excuse that eating Light or Fat Free foods is 'expensive', but what I've learned is that yes, while they may be more money, I don't eat as much of them. W.W. teaches you to eat in moderation and that's exactly what I needed.

I have so much FUN (sounds silly), but counting points and seeing if I can 'afford' the 10 points in one meal, is just fun. The feeling I get every Thursday before weigh in and after getting my 'rewards' from the leader, makes it all worth it!

The support I get from my sister and my mom, which are right up there with me in weight loss, is amazing. Another thing that is great, is having the healthier food in the house to feed my kids. I feel so guilty giving my kids the greasy, fatty stuff while I eat the healthy stuff in front of them. So, it definitely helps me feed the kids better.

Let's start Weight Watchers

June 13, 2009
185 lbs

So, after failing at all the exercise attempts, I realize it's not the working out I needed, it was my way of eating. That was hard for me to admit, because I love to eat! And with W.W., you are able to eat what you want, in moderation. So, it gave me control. I started substituting with Light, Fat Free, and switched to Diet Soda. (big move for me).

Ok, so 2 weeks of W.W., I've already lost 10 lbs! Man, my body must be freaking out! I am doing really good, eating right and walking on the treadmill. What motivated me to get on that treadmill is to put old videos in and watch them in 30 minute increments. So, then I look forward to coming back the next day to watch more.

The beginning

June 2009
195 lbs

Before having children, I never felt overweight. I always weighed the average for being 5'7".

Then when I got pregnant with Kylie in 2004, I gained 40 lbs. I lost a little bit over the next 2 years, but not all of it. I then got pregnant with Korbin and gained another 50 lbs. When I gave birth to Korbin, I weighed 225 lbs. I hated it!! Luckily, I nursed him and lost about 30 lbs. But, when I stopped nursing him at 12 months old, I stopped losing weight. That was November, 2008.

I had stayed at around 195 lbs for several months saying "I need to do something about this FAT!" I tried buying an elliptical. Pshh, that didn't last. I ended up selling it 3 months later (lost money in that deal). Then I tried 'counting calories' on a Calorie Counter website. That lasted about 2 weeks and I got tired of doing it. So, I tried walking with friends in the neighborhood. I could not get into it and talk myself into enjoying it. Then I saw a commercial for Dance Dance Revolution (Disney Grooves) and just had to have it! I 'danced' every day for a few weeks and felt really good, but NO WEIGHT LOSS!

Ok, so maybe I need to look in a different direction....

In the meantime, my hubby deployed and I moved with my kids to my parents state and am living with them. When moving back here, I saw a great friend of mine and she looked so good! She had lost over 50 lbs with Weight Watchers. I had always had a negative feeling about W.W. for some reason. But after seeing her, I thought about giving it a try. I talked to my sister and my mom and asked if they might want to join with me. Thankfully, they did.

So, the journey begins.....
